A newly designed BIPV system with enhanced passive cooling and ventilation

Abstract Nowadays, the application of renewable energies such as solar energy in building sector has increased notably considering adverse impacts climate change on human life; hence many studies have focused photovoltaic panels buildings. In current study, a 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model been developed to evaluate performance newly designed building-integrated (BIPV) system. Given negative influence overheating lifespan and PV panels, their passive air cooling studied. Further, potential rooftop-mounted ventilation buildings by generating natural convective currents explored. The CFD takes into consideration effects radiation, conduction, buoyancy-driven generated which are heated due exposure radiation heat flux. results suggest that applying high surface emissivity for part roof beneath intensifies turn provides better with higher at fluxes. Up 34% increase mass flow rate 3 K decrease mean temperature were attained modifying surface. Such operating can enhance efficiency about 1.56% 21 %, respectively. Based conditions system characteristics, BIPV yielded an (ACH) range 3–13 was considered be highly prevalent providing required wide applications. It also observed inside affected both amount load incident behind panels.
